Henry McDonald

Blacksmith and farrier, is a native of Auckland, New Zealand and was born in 1864, He is the eldest son of Mr. Peter McDonald by his second wife. His Father is an engineer, formerly of Bega, and served through the New Zealand war in the Colonial Defence force as armour –sergeant and farrier-major, under Captain Hickson. Our subject came to NSW with his parents at a very early age and was educated at Bega Public School. He afterwards served his apprenticeship in his Father’s establishment and in 1886 came to Bombala, and opened the business as farrier and general Blacksmith on his own behalf which he, at present conducts.
