On February 10, 65-year-old Arthur Butler Jackson, retired milliner, of Burwood, drew his first old-age pension. It came to 4. Then a little while later he rang up the Ashfield police and complained that his money had been stolen. And a little later than that they found old Arthur Jackson lying unconscious in the street. He died in hospital:
But after his death in the pharmacy of his chemist son, Augustine Darrell Jackson, they found the old man's other coat, and in it was the 4. Arthur Jackson had collapsed in the sun looking for 4 which was safely at home. Parramatta District Coroner Williams recorded a finding of accidental death.

Description: DEATHS
Much surprise and regret was expressed on Wednesday, when it became known that Mrs. W. H. McKay, wife of Mr. McKay, storekeeper, of West Wyalong, had succumbed to an attack of typhoid fever. Deceased had only been ill for about a fortnight, but, being subject to heart trouble, the fever was more dangerous than in ordinary cases. Dr Perry and Dr Willis were in attendance, but their efforts were of no avail, owing to the complication mentioned, and deceased passed away peacefully.
A husband and two small children are left, the former to mourn the loss he has sustained by the death of his helpmate, and the children will miss a mother's loving care. Much sympathy is feltwilh the husband, who has been so suddenly bereaved.
The funeral which took place yesterday, was very largely attended. The last rites of the Church at the grave were carried out by the Rev. Father Vaughan. Mr E. Mills conducted the funeral arrangements.

Description: Mrs. ELZABETH SHERIDAN
The death occurred on Friday last, of Mrs. Elizabeth Sheridan, of "Cherry Lea" Collector, widow of the late William Sheridan, who predeceased her by 16 years. Mrs. Sheridan was stricken with an attack of pneumonia and pleurisy about 10 days presiously, and although she received every attentiaon from her medical adviser and had Nurse Hartnett in attendance, very little hope was held out for her recovery from the first, as she had suffered greatly of late from a weak heart.
She was native of the Braidwood district, and had attained the age of 72 years, and was esteemed for her quiet and amiable disposition. She leaves three daughter's, Mrs. Mills (Sydney), Mrs. Stephens and Mrs. Cook, and two sons. Walter, of "Cherry Lea," and Sergeant John Sheridan (Dubbo). Another son, WiIlian, was killed in the Great War. During her life time, she was an adherent of the Church of England, and prior to her interment in the local cemetery, the bodly was conveyed to the local church, where the Rev. S. North conducted the last sad rites of the church. The funeral was largely attended, the body was laid to rest beside that of her late husband.

Please find below the details for Charles Burke and family. If I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to email me.

Charles Burke
Born: Mar 2 1888 In: Carcoar, N.S.W.Australia
Died: 1950 (at age ‎~62‏) In: Five Dock, N.S.W.

I can confirm this is the right Charles Burke as my family, being the family of Charles Burke are stonemasons and are in the midst of making his headstone. I also called his Grandson who confirmed Charles Burke passed away at Five Dock NSW on the back veranda of his son Gordon Russell Burke's home.

https://www.myheritage.com/person-1501030_34/charles-burke this is the family tree of Charles Burke.

Charles appears to be born out of wedlock as the marriage of his parents did not take place until 1889 as shown when clicking on the my heritage link then clicking on his mother's Susan's Events tab Marriage Registry No. 3717/1889. I am assuming this is why the strange middle initials on the marriage cert or the marriage cert belongs to another couple.

My mother has handed down many family stories one being a family member Upton Tripp had a painting showing at the national gallery, yet to find the art, however all my mothers other stories have checked out as the stories appear in trove.

Charles Burke's Grandfather is John Allman Burke he is clergy of the C.O.E church, hence a child out of wedlock I assume would of brought more shame for the time period than normal so maybe married under a slighly assumed name or error on BDM part.

BURKE CHARLES 32805/1909 ( birth registration) CHARLES U T SUSAN. I assume the birth was only registered in 1909 due to needing official documentation to get married to Elizabeth Mary Austin in 1910.

My grandmother Hilda Mary Warren-Byrne, married again in 1959 to Joseph Serio 1880-1962, and again we think to John ?  Forrester late 1960's, however we cannot find any information regarding this event, also we don't know when she passed away early 1970's we believe, we do not know where she has been interned, we do know she owned property at 109 Park Road, Auburn, also 410 Bourke St, Surry Hills.

Maybe you can shed some light on this or one of the members, I might mention in several documents her first names were switched around.

Look forward to finding out.

Hello Ian,

Walter died in Brisbane, Queensland, in 1960.

https://www.familyhistory.bdm.qld.gov.au/details/b112e116b8b4f0341c05d9c7745b1bae3497d965f2897abee859b7dba03b7593

He was born 1 Dec 1879 in Goulburn (registered 1880)

On 20 Jan 1905 he married Mary Lillias LYNCH (born 4 Jul 1878 at Cassilis, NSW). They had three children, then she died on 21 Jan 1909 at Goulburn.

http://www.monaropioneers.com/TNG/getperson.php?personID=I289195&tree=MP

To check the dates, go to  https://familyhistory.bdm.nsw.gov.au/lifelink/familyhistory/search and plug in the data, selecting Date Range - NO.

Walter seems to have remained single for many years.

In 1945 he married his niece Clara, then widowed.

http://www.monaropioneers.com/TNG/getperson.php?personID=I44706&tree=MP

Clara died in Gosford in 1955. She is my cousin's grandmother. My cousin has confirmed when and how she died.

Walter did not die in 1947. I can see how plausible it looks, when that fellow's father was named as James and his mother as Margaret. However the Queensland record specifically states that his mother was Margaret SCHOFIELD.

Regards,  Beverley

Thank you,
Regards, Ian
