Noel bought, owned and operated the Central Garage and Bombala motors for many years and was the local agent for the Royal Automobile Club and local agent for Stromberg-Carlson wireless sets. He was the mayor of Bombala in 1937, having been an alderman since 1933. He was the President of Bombala Bowling club in 1960. He also owned and operated "Willowvale" which is still a very well run farm today, owned and operated by Joan, the late John Gillan's partner.

Noel is buried in Bombala cemetery with his wife Thelma.

Description: Jane Hilda Rose Lancaster married Ernest William Hill in Hurstville in 1914 (Cert. # 1914/11119). They lived in Carlton for many years.

Ernest was born in Glebe in 1889. He worked as a shunter and died in Hurstville on 30 Oct 1959. Buried in Woronora Cemetery, so I will visit and photograph his grave.

After his death, Jane appears to have gone to Newcastle. She died there on 14 Oct 1961 and was cremated and buried in Beresfield Cemetery.

I only have the Australian Cemetery Index for them, not the Australian Death Index records. The Cemetery records for both of them are slightly off: Jane's omits her middle initials, and Ernest's has "Ernest E Hill" but I think this is a typo since E is adjacent to W on the keyboard. I've seen plenty of mistranscriptions in the Index records. The dates are certainly in the right timeframe: both are on the electoral rolls for 1958 and I could not find them on the 1963 rolls.
