They were Percy Lindon Whitby and Evelyn Beulah Ingram. I've attached the comment to the right James. This is his first marriage. He married Elva Foley 18 Dec 1982 in Cathcart. James Whitby is a first cousin 1x removed.
Alexia's father was James Laing and her mother was a Crawford. Alexia also remarried since she was buried Alexia Marie Smith, but I have not yet found her marriage cert. She was born 13 Apr 1931 in Candelo and died 26 Feb 2005 in Bega. Too recent to be able to get her death cert. She lived in Cathcart with James Whitby from the 1950s until at least 1980.

Hi Don,
We have no record of your Grandfather in our database unfortunately and I can find no records for the surname Jurden in the NSW and VIC BDM Indexes that would help either. I suggest you try looking in the Electoral Rolls for the period in question for any clues or obtain his marriage certificate to see what information is contained therein.

Good Afternoon Ian,
I am currently researching my Thornton family and noted there are photos under Thornton Pioneers on the website.
I can’t see who contributed these photos to contact them directly, and would love to know who the people are.
My connection is that Henry Thornton and Sarah Mitchell were my 2x Great Grandparents.
They seem to have arrived in Cooma around 1860 and remained there until Henry died 1895.
Henry was a Carpenter and seems to have tried his hand at being the Undertaker, ran a Furniture Store and Publican.
Their third son Thomas was my Great Grandfather, he also became a Carpenter and moved to Camden where he married and had a son Thomas Wheeler Thornton (known as Thomas William).
I have very few photos of the early Thornton family so would be very interested to know the identity of those on the page.
I am also hoping to visit Cooma area later in the year.
Your assistance is much appreciated.

Dear Ian,
I hope you are well.
I would like to submit some additional material to the Pioneers page under the descendants of James Casey (b: 1841, Templemore, Country Tipperary; d: 27 July 2935, Cooma).
I am a descendant via one of his children (through his marriage to Annie Hayes in 1881) - namely, Michael Thomas Casey (b: 1886 in Cooma).
It is a long story, but Michael seems to have abandoned his wife (Bridget Delia Tobin) and 2 sons in approx. 1917 - one of those children is my Grandfather (also called Michael Thomas Casey). The family (my grandfather included, who died in 1991) had always assumed that the original Michael Thomas Casey had died. We have now discovered he was alive and well and had remarried at least twice and (like his father, James Casey, and many other Casey relatives) lived to a very old age.
Michael Thomas Casey died in Lismore, NSW on 25 May 1982 (at the age of 95 years).
I would like to add this date of death for Michael Thomas Casey to the Pioneers website (currently there is no date listed, just a date and place of birth).
I am not sure if this is the correct way to update the website page but hope so.
If you require the information in some other format, please let me know.
As an aside, I can also list (under ‘Generation 3’ and ‘Generation 4’) the children and Grandchildren, respectively, of this Michael Thomas Casey. Please let me know if this information may be included and I will also provide same.
Finally, I understand that there may be a booklet on the ‘Casey Family’ that one of the contributors to the Monaro Pioneers website has put together - Sue Grieves. I am trying to reach her to see if there is some way of finding a copy of this booklet. If you know if how I could get old of this book or indeed contact Sue Grieves, I would be extremely grateful to hear from you.
Kind regards,
Benedict Casey Price
Hi Benedict,
Thank you for letting us know, I have amended our database with your information. I would also welcome any additional information you can add to our records.
I suggest you put your request regarding Sue Grieves on our Facebook page, the best and most effective way of making such contact.

Description: The Duncans lived down at the river mouth at Pambula Beach. In those days small ships would call in and anchor just inside the river mouth and Daniel would unload them there and he would take the goods further upstream as far as Punt Hole where the goods were off loaded. Whilst they lived there a small daughter Mary (birth and death not registered) was drown and she is buried up on the headland. A number of years ago the Lions Club placed a plaque on the grave and erected chains around it to protect it.
Ian I have a photo of Mary's grave since the Lions Club have done it up and a close up of the plaque if you'd like them (She would be my great Aunt)
