Bombala Peace Celebrations
Bombala Times-News & Notes, 26 Sep 1919.
from Patricia McGufficke <peandpat-at-ozemail-com-au>

Bombala Peace Celebrations: - though belated, were none the less enthusiastic.  At 11.30am, the procession moved off from the Old Post Office, along Maybe Street and Forbes Street to the Show Ground.  In the front of the procession was Miss D Gleeson, costumed as "Peace" and riding a white horse.  Following came the Mounted Police, Sergeant McDonnell and Constable Champion.  Then the order was, Band, 45 Soldiers led by Sgt E Skipper, Red Cross, Children, Friendly Societies, Motor Cars and Fancy Costumes.  At night one of the biggest crowds ever seen in Bombala gathered at the School of Arts, many couldn't gain admission as every inch of room was occupied.
