The above photograph is a copy of one that hopefully still hangs in the Westpac Bank at Bombala.  It is a group of Bombala musicians and I wonder if you can place it on the Bombala website to see if anyone can put names to the faces.
Standing at right with clarinet is my great grandfather, ROBERT GORDON ELLIOTT, who married JANE MARIA INGRAM at Bukalong Station in 1880.  Robert worked for a while on Cambalong Station and also as an “Inspector of Nuisances”, possibly in Bombala.
Standing on left with cornet is ALFRED HENRY CHAMPION, Robert’s brother-in-law.  ALFRED married ELIZABETH (Minnie) ELLIOTT in 1915.  Alfred Champion opened a shoe repair and sales business in Bombala in 1913 which his son carried on for many years.
