my name is phillip cotterill.
was just searching the internet and came across the sight of my ancestors.
I am Sophia Banks and thomas C line, we grew up and still own a property at Bombala named Caiwarro.
My parents are Thomas john and Joycelyn mary nee Helmers.
My parents are well known for their community service contributions.
i have a brother named Paul, who is at this point in time a public servant in a position as head of CSIRO Forestry.
My sister Lynne is a businesswoman in Sydney having begun her career by owning a pub named The grand national hotel in a suburb named Paddington.
i am a well known Visual artist and often paint under the name of FFFHIL.
My grandfather was a person named Dawson Coulton, who is quite famous for contributions to shearing. Dawson was a child of Harry and Margaret.
my mum has received an order of Australia amongst other things for community service...was citizen of the year etc my dad had paul harris fellowshipd etc for same.
both have so much knowledge of the didtrict. my brother is recognised internationally for genetic science and has done a lot of research into family things while he has been in london etc
Lynne has 3 daughters Tilly, Anna, and Kate
Pual has two sons, Tom and Jack.( Thomas and Jaques)
ithink my mum was also Miss NSW Nurse in the 40's some time....i say this as her dad was german...hence my mum was meant to be barefoot and pregnant forever.
She actually had a career with national recognition, raised a family and participated in community at a high level......without hating my dad.
My dads mum was also a bit of a cookie...Catherine Margaret. She owned a pub in Barcaldine and spent a large part of her life playing the piano at silent movie theartres in Longreach and Brisbane. My grandparents also considered Bombala home, but spent mush of the time in QLD. Bombala and its people just adore my parents and grandparents for the things that they do for others.
My grandfather Dawson, was a shearing contractor whose run went from VIC to QLD following the seasons. The company was based at Young I think. Cotterill and Goodman or Cotterill and Larson.
There was a 4 page spread in one of the NSW Sunday papers about my grand dads story, about 10 years ago...my mother has hundreds of newspaper articles on our immediate family....we all like attention ...guess...mostly with cattle achievements etc...my dads stud was recognised on a national level.
lorna Davis is a daughter of my grand dads sister. i think from nimetybel originally. She has a stall in the South Dowling Antique markets in Sydney....she has been there for years and is respected in her field of work. Her son is a lawyer in double bay, sydney. Her daughter married a famous australian artist named Graham Townsend. they came to one of my exhuibitions when my sister owned
the grand national hotel .
my grand dads other sister sarah married a dentist named Reeny or Reany. He owned the land that is now known as Broadway in Sydney, and Noth Sydney. He was a dentist at Noth Sydney, I think next to a pharmacest..whose daughter i accidently met in Canberra and is married to a doctor here. in a suburb named campbell,
aunty Ray had two sons, phillip and Justin. I was named after Phillip.
Phillip was a journalist with the Telegraph or Herald and was killed in action as a reporter in the second world war.
Justin was a sculptor.
Justin had good contracts with Myers in Sydney...he used to make black people figurine things....amongst other things.
he fell in love with a woman older than his mum, big fight, and went to live in Majorca, Spain.
Never saw his mother again.
They died about a week apart , or short period of time, and both were in the same nursing home at ranwick and no one knew. so they never got to meet again...aunty ray ( sarah) had a woman that lived with her in a house in Glenmore Rd, Paddington. named Nell. A very nice old house that was sold when she died. dad and Lorna participated in winding up her estate.
my grandfather used to do a lot of things with the campbells from Campbalong. ...anfd my dad.
we have a bible with lots of generational material in it...original handwriting etc...mary should go to Bombala.

my great grandmother was a stewart.
Stewarts are a big influence behind the raiders etc. I think one of the sisters husbands started off the first building society in canberra
Dunsmore is also a stewart name.
ian Dunsmore live s in pambula. His wife family used to have beachies and lifesavers. her dad was named Armstrong, a Sydney business, and her sister is married to sir ian Finlay, their dayghter Amana, is agent for Christian Dior.
