John Gleeson

I recently received a copy of the insolvency of my gr.gr grandfather John Thomas GLEESON.
At some time between the birth of his daughter in October 1886 and December 1886, John Thomas GLEESON became the licensee and owner of the Tathra Hotel at Tathra, NSW. Sadly for him, as a result of “decreased trading” and a number of creditors issuing court action for recovery of monies, John surrendered his assets in July 1887.
In 1887 the Tathra Hotel is noted as being valued at 850.00 pounds, the Hotel and it’s premises occupying ½ an acre.
The document which records his insolvency is 47 pages long and notes all parties who indicated they were owed money.
I have compiled a summary of all people residing in townships of the Cooma/Monaro area who are noted in this document, and recorded them according to the town in which they resided prior to July 1887. The list comprises the names of more than 80 people and/or businesses from the towns of Bega, Tathra, Candelo, Bibbenluke, Bombala, Nimitybelle, Towamba and Wolumla.
I hope that this information is of use to those researching families in the Cooma/Monaro area.
I have also recently gained the death certificate of John Thomas GLEESON. I have entered the wrong place of death for this individual on the Monaro site. There were 2 John GLEESON deaths in 1888 both with the same parent names!!! The correct place of death is Sydney. I also have more information on this family group which extends on what is currently on the site. Would it suit you to receive a completely new updated Gedcom, or a dot point list of the additions/alterations??
