Michelago
In 1913 and 1914 the parish of Cooma shed all its country centres. Two mission districts were formed, Michelago and Nimmitabel. Nimmitabel had a very brief existence and early in 1916 was re-attached to Cooma. Numeralla and Umeralla were attached to Michelago in 1916. Subsequently Nimmitabel was worked from Michelago. This was an absurd and impossible solution of a difficult problem and in a few years Michelago handed Nimmitabel back to Cooma. In the meantime the Michelago district proper, struggled on under impossible working and financial conditions and it was not until 1936, after it had cost the diocese between £3,ooo and £4,000 in maintenance grants that the experiment was brought to an end. Its centres were redistributed between the parishes, of Cooma, Queanbeyan and Bungendore.
The Churches in those centres will be found described under the heading of the parishes in which they are now included. This brief mention is included here in order to record the clergymen who ministered in the district during its separate existence.
