Felix had returned to Shamrock Vale Candelo a few years after the death of
Alice
in 1881. It seems that William did not leave Rocky Hall to take over the running of Shamrock Vale until the late 1800’s, as his son Henry was born in Candelo in 1889, whereas the previous four children were born at Rocky Hall. John and his family remained there until 1902.
After Felix’s death in 1886 his half share of 457 acres of
Freehold
Land
was left to his son Henry Charles his two daughters Maude (sic)
Alice
and Martha. The instructions is the will stipulated that Maud’s share was not to flow in any way to her husband Robert NADIN, and after her death the monies were to be divided among her children. However, on the Conveyance Document of 1890 Robert’s name is mentioned in the
sale of the lands to John DARRAGH. Did Maud give her 159 pounds to Robert to help keep the creditors at bay, or did she obey her father’s wishes?
