Mr Mooney was a member of Shire Council from 1929 to 1953, being Shire President on four occasions. He was also Deputy Shire President in the years 1945 and 46, 1951 and 52.

Devoted

Councilors praised his work for council and for his riding, saying that he had been a devoted hardworking councilor.

Mr Mooney was also an active member of various Nimmitabel organisations, a keen Monaro sportsman, and a particularly well known horse-rider.

Council moved that a letter of sympathy be sent to Mr Mooney's family.

THE LATE MR PATRICK FRANCIS MOONEY

The late Pat Mooney, who died at his residence, 6 Duke Street, Uralla, on Tuesday, July 13, was born at Cooma. He was 76 years of age and came to Uralla eleven years ago when he purchased the property "Linden" from Mr Abe Cooper.

Since coming to Uralla Mr Mooney was actively interested in the development of trotting events at the Uralla Show and was to a great extent responsible for the inauguration of the trotting programme.
