John Rutherford Marrinumbla Station 1858 JOHN RUTHERFORD, born in Scotland, came to Australia in 1856. In 1858 he arrived at Marrinumbla Station, Buckley's Crossing then the property of his Uncle. He worked at Buckley's Crossing as a carpenter for about sixteen years, and then went away for some years. Returning he opened a general store at Buckley's Crossing, where for three years he occupied the position of Post Master. He ultimately succeeded to his Uncle's property of Minto, near Bibbenluke in the Bombala District.
