John Semken
Cooma c1872

The SEMKENs came to Australia in 1844 and settled in Geelong. Originally a German family, they came to Australia after living in London for about 40 years. Through his second marriage at Christ Church, Geelong in 1850, John Semken married Frances Wheatland. They had 10 children of whom my Aunt Florence was born in Cooma in 1872. A child may have been born and died in infancy in Cooma.
