Oct 2 , 1924—“Monaro Mercury” records death of Thomas Wroe aged 77 . buried at Boloco , Rev. E.Elwin officiating . He lived 31 years at Dalgety as Post Master . Born in Salford , England in 1847 . (He) sailed for Sydney in 1856 , thence boat to Eden and per bullock team to Bombala , where he resided for 15 years . Married there to Hanna (sic) Wheatley , by whom he had two sons , John and George of Jimenbuen . Left a widower , he
married after a few years – Sarah Ann Callaghan , and by her leaves James , and Mrs. Freebody of Dalgety , Robert of Auburn , Arthur of Thirlmere , Henry of N.Z. Sidney of Illabo , and Herbert of Griffith , 43 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren . (Dalgety P.O. then on the hill up towards the Police Station .) Note in brackets by J.A.P .
