Sergeant WILLIAM JOHN FRANCIS HARDAKER |
Anne, the eldest daughter of David and Elizabeth , married Willliam Hardaker. They were to have nine children. Before moving to Bombala, they resided in Newtown, Sydney, where William was a petitioner to his Excellency the Governor. It is believed that William once co-farmed Rock Flat station with his father in law, David, this was before the property was renamed "One Tree Hill".
When William and Ann moved to Bombala, William became a baker though he had stated his trade as that of clockmaker, which he plied for a while in a shop belonging to his brother in law John Henry Morgan.
Ann and William were to select land which was later to be known as "Possum Flat", a one hundred acre property overlooking the township of Bombala, this passing down through a number of their descendants over time.
Ann died on the night of December 23.1890 of a bowel obstruction, that same night, in the house next door, her daughter in law Emily died, she was the wife of Henry James Hardaker. Henry was to remarry, this time to his cousin Elizabeth Scott, she being only 17 years of age at the time.
